Building Safety

Building Safety Department

The Building Safety Division ensures that buildings are constructed to protect the lives and safety of occupants.  Thousands of inspections are performed each year by certified professional inspectors who implement the standards of adopted building codes. We ensure safe buildings and significantly reduce property insurance rates.

Our intent is to provide as much information as possible to answer your questions, and to help you with your project.

Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program:

      • The Community Development Department of the City of Logan announces the Housing Rehabilitation Assistance program. The program provides assistance to Low/Moderate Income home owners with costs to rehabilitate existing aging properties. Property owners that rent to LMI families may also participate. The program will pay up to 90%-98% of the cost to meet current life-safety code requirements and other rehabilitation items. Assistance may be sought to install basement bedroom windows where needed; the repair and replacement of heating, electrical and plumbing systems; the replacement of exterior covering such as siding, soffit, gutter and roofing; abatement of asbestos and lead-based paint; ADA barrier removal; installation of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors; other items may be considered.
      • If you have a qualifying project, please contact Tom Dickinson with the Building Safety Division at 435-716-9033 or tom.dickinson@loganutah.org
