Dear Residents,
Each school year we have a recurring problem in our community especially in the area of student housing near Utah State University. We have had numerous occurrences of window peekers both last school year and again this school year. We have made arrests for some of the offenses however; we believe there are numerous individuals that are involved in committing this crime against your privacy.
We ask for your assistance in combating this crime by taking it seriously. Please make sure that your blinds or curtains are completely closed in early morning hours and in the evening. Be mindful that small gaps either at the bottom of the window or holes in blinds or curtains are exactly what a window peeker wants, they can see you but you can’t see them. To ensure that you have privacy, close your blinds, turn your lights on and then go outside of that window at night and see if you can see in your room. If you can, do what is necessary to ensure your privacy.
If you are unfortunate and have someone peeking in your window, or see someone near your windows or your neighbors, please try to remain calm, act like you don’t see them, maintain your safety, and immediately call 911. DO NOT TRY TO CATCH THE PERSON YOURSELF! Officers will immediately respond to the area and attempt to apprehend the individual.
If you have any questions, concerns or would like an officer to come to your residence and talk to you about safety or assist you with ensuring your privacy please call me at 716-9343. If I am not there please leave me a message and a time that I can make contact with you.
