Leaf Cleanup is held every fall. We will pick up leaves that have been either raked onto the parkstrip or bagged and left on the parkstrip. The Street Department is asking for the cooperation of Logan City citizens in the following ways:
• Park off the street as much as possible. This will eliminate the necessity of the cleanup equipment going around vehicles.
• The vacuum equipment will not pick up leaves that have been raked around the base of trees, telephone poles or fire hydrants.
• DO NOT rake leaves or other debris into the gutters or canals. This causes blocked culverts and driveways during stormy weather. It is also against city ordinance to block or restrict waterways and violators may be cited.
• If you have a green curb-side container for yard waste, it may be used to
dispose of any leaves you may have. Please do NOT put leaves in your blue recycling can. For more information about what you can and cannot put in your blue recycling can, visit the Logan City Environmental department here.
We receive a lot of calls from people wanting to know when we are going to be at their home. This is very difficult to predict because we do not know how often our crews will have to stop, how much they'll have to pick up, or how often they'll have to go to the landfill to empty their truck. Please be patient with us during this process.
